MONGOLIAN NATIONAL TOURISM ORGANISATION

Tourism is a booming industry and one of the fastest growing sectors for the Mongolian economy. To enhance the marketing of Mongolia as a destination the Mongolian National Tourism Organization (MNTO) was born on June 26, 2007. The MNTO strives to raise the profile of Mongolian tourism in international markets, to build a single brand and image of Mongolia and promote all aspects of tourism to Mongolia around the world, with particular attention in its key source markets of Japan, the USA, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom. The MNTO also aspires to become the vehicle for engaging the private sector in the development of tourism policy and its implementation.

With members and partners from all tiers of the Mongolian tourism industry including the Government of Mongolia, we:
•      Cooperate with international destination marketing organizations to foster international tourism growth;
•      Brand and market Mongolia internationally;
•      Conduct research and provide the latest industry information;
•      Promote tourism products and services of Mongolia, and
•      Serve the needs of the industry in collaboration with our partners.
Eleven NGOs, seven private companies, and three individuals are the founders of the MNTO. The organization is young and operated by Western educated industry professionals who want to breathe new wind into marketing Mongolia as a unique destination in the heart of Asia and in doing so “speak with a single voice” in leading the tourism industry onto new heights. The Governing Board members are deeply aware that the new organization needs to position Mongolia rapidly in the international tourism market and deliver tangible benefits to gain industry recognition as a viable and legitimate voice of the industry by taking advantage of every opportunity.
