Safety of the country: Mongolia is a relatively safe country and women traveling alone are usually treated with respect and friendship. You need to take care of your belongings from theft, especially in Ulaanbaatar.

Best period to travel: May-October and Lunar New Year season (end of January-late February)

Clothes: Because of unpredictable extreme continental weather, you are advised to bring warm clothes even in summer time.

Money: Any commercial purpose, you need Mongolian togrog but USD, Euro and some other currencies can be exchanged and you can use some major credit cards such as Visa and Master Cards.

Food: International cuisine is available in major cities and in tourist camps in the countryside.

Accommodation: There are luxury and western style hotels in the center of UB that are close to shops and museums. In the countryside you will stay in tents and Gers or Ger camps which provide an authentic taste of Mongolian lifestyle and culture.

Medical Services: Thanks to the climate and low population density, Mongolia is a relatively healthy country. Medical services are available everywhere except remote areas. Make sure that you arrange good travel insurance for an emergency situation.

Electrical socket: 2 round prongs, 220 volts, 50 Hz

Taxi service: There are many official taxi companies operating in Ulaanbaatar. You can call 1950, 300000 for taxi service

Communication: International Direct Dial (IDD) phone calls are available from hotels in main cities and post offices in country-side.Country code for Mongolia is 976 and the area code for Ulaanbaatar is 11. Internet access is available in major cities and some provincial centers.

Travel information: When you make a booking you may receive Tour Guideline of advice and necessary information with list of all required items, clothing and medicines etc.

Mongolian Visas: Most foreign tourists need a visa to travel to Mongolia except citizens of Israel, Malaysia and the USA. You need to check for your latest travel information to Mongolia in the nearest Mongolian Embassy. Some schedules may be changed. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the tour start date.
