Gobi has a unique place in Mongolian culture and the international world of luxury fashion knitwear. It is the oldest name in the Mongolian borders. Established in 1981 by the Mongolian government, it become the first Mongolian luxury knitwear brand to breakthrough into Europe, the US and Japan during the 20th century. 

Gobi has always been a favourite of the stars and high society since the 1990s. Today, Gobi is worn by the president, celebrities, Olympic and world champions.

After almost 30 years as a government owned company Gobi started a new chapter in July 2007 with a new brand vision dedicated to restoring the luxury fashion heritage of Gobi’s rich past and continue the tradition of innovation, authenticity and glamour.
