| Mongolia Participated Successfully in ITB Berlin Convention |

The Ministry of Nature, Environment and Tourism of Mongolia aimed to promote the country as a diverse and fascinating travel destination in partnership with both national and international tourism stakeholders. From Mongolia, about 100 represantatives took part in the ITB Berlin-2011. During the convention, numerous events to advertise Mongolia took place successfully in three different halls. On first day (March 9), “Mongolian Forum” convention was organized and L.Gansukh, the Minister of the Environment and Tourism of Mongolia, gave a speech in there. He stated that “Mongolia has been participating in ITB since 1999. Mongolia became Convention and Culture Partner Country from 188 countries is a remarkable incident”. Mongolian cultural activities including contortion show, fashion show and dance show. Famous Mongolian modern artist and traditional musicians hosted also a folk art performance. There were well-known people such as General Secretary of UNWTO Taleb D. Rifai and Poland’s ex president Lech Walesa in the ”Mongolian Forum”. Taleb D. Rifai said ”I’m wanting to go to Mongolia after i saw this wonderful mongolian folk art performance. I want to say too everyone should visit to Mongolia once.” Also, several reports by foreign and Mongolian researchers was organized during the ITB Berlin 2011. On March 12, award ceremony took place within the framework of the topic “Human is to be united by tourist”. A total of 11,163 competitors from 188 countries participated in the award ceremony “Best Competitor”. Mongolian pavilion called “Adventure Tour” won third place in the nomination entitled “Asia, Australia and Oceania”.
